This unit begins with a numberless problem, which we try to to solve by putting different numbers in.
In the process, we look at UK coinage and notes and the patterns in the numbers.
There are then a series of challenges, to work out how many different problems can be created following certain rules, and to work systematically to solve them all.
Talking games are used at two different points to consolidate the learning.
