Opening Young Minds to Endless Possibilities
Memorising Number Facts

Certain facts in maths need simply to be learned.  Children’s brains are all different and we often find that different strategies help different children.

However, the following key principles will be good to keep in mind:

  • Ensure activities are fun and engaging
  • Practise little and often and stop before a child becomes disengaged
  • Provide the correct level of challenge and build up learning step-by-step

You should find that the activities in the ‘Memorising Activities & Games’ section on the Maths Without Limits website will all prove very effective, as long as you follow the instructions precisely.
